The Women’s Committee for Cincinnati Riverfront Park has created “The Twig Project” just for you! It’s a major new community involvement initiative to benefit the park. The Twig Project is a response to numerous requests from individuals, groups and organizations throughout Greater Cincinnati who wanted to find ways to support the private fundraising efforts currently underway for the park.
The new initiative encourages groups that have an interest in contributing to the park to establish special Twig projects—activities that generate proceeds intended for the park. Twig projects will reach into the community on a grassroots level, engage others, and form even stronger branches that will work together to support the park. With the construction of the park moving along so quickly, many people are seeing even more clearly what a precious commodity the riverfront acreage on which the park will be built really is! And it’s an opportunity most cities just do not have. They really understand what this park is going to mean for the future of our entire region, its economic vitality and the health of its citizens.
The Cincinnati Town and Country Garden Club organized one of the first Twig projects. They wrote and published a cookbook, “Get Fresh: Simple, Savory and Successful Recipes” that is now on retailers’ shelves in various locations throughout the city, including the Krohn Conservatory’s Gift Shop. 100% of the profits from the sale of the book will be donated to the park.
The full potential of the park can only be accomplished through meaningful citizen involvement like the Cincinnati Town and Country Garden Club’s Twig Project. While the park is being built with a blend of federal, state and local dollars, private donations are imperative if the park is to be constructed with all of the dynamic features that will transform the former wasted space into a park worthy of becoming a true destination park.
The Women’s Committee and the Cincinnati Parks Foundation stand ready to support Twig efforts from you and your group! So if you want to play a bigger role in ensuring that this park achieves its full potential, start a Twig Project of your own!

The Women’s Committee is an organization created to provide meaningful financial and public support for Cincinnati Parks’ effort to build Cincinnati Riverfront Park. Though the park will be built with a blend of City, State and Federal funds, substantial private donations will also be needed to build many of the park’s unique features and to endow the park. This is why private giving is so important to this project.
The creation of this park is arguably one of the most important public projects our region will undertake over the next decade. That’s because as the city’s new front yard, Cincinnati Riverfront Park will become a destination venue for an estimated 1.1 million visitors annually. The new park will transform Cincinnati’s riverfront into a powerful destination gateway that will fuel economic development, community health, commerce and tourism for the entire region.
